Damaris SS2011 Collection

Images (c) Damaris

Well, ladies and gents, the Damaris Spring/Summer 2011 collection is finally here. This time it's a little more petite than it has been in previous seasons, but it's still just as pretty. All the things you love most about the classic Damaris designs are still there: lashings of lace, corset-style ties, big silk bows, Swarovski crystal embellishments and plenty of colour.

It's a shame that this season there doesn't seem to be a dreamy lookbook shoot to showcase the collection, but then again the designs stand up as little works of art on their own. I'm really loving the return of the floor length for this season. As far as I'm concerned, there is not such thing as too much drama when it comes to expensive lingerie!

Underwear As Outerwear With An Edge

The underwear as outerwear look doesn't always have to be overly soft to have a strong impact. This editorial shot by David Roemer for The Block's S/S 2011 issue proves just that. It's all about white, nude tones and soft fabrics contrasted with modern, harder edged makeup, tough leather harnesses and straps on everything. I like it!

Lingerie In Shadows And Light By Ellen Von Unwerth

For this editorial for Grey's Spring/Summer 2011 issue, Ellen Von Unwerth's usually playful style of photography gets a little more dark and brooding. Beneath blurs and shadows peep slivers of high end lingerie, and underwear-as-outerwear looks, finished with simple but sexy detailing. Lotta Volkova Adam doesn't put a foot wrong with the styling of this shoot, pairing outerwear with Fifi Chachnil knickers, sheer stockings and cute over knee socks, all modelled by Patricia Van Der Vliet.
